Get Deliciously Crabby During Your Visit to the Annapolis Sailboat Show

The Annapolis Sailboat Show is currently underway as part of the 2017 United States Sailboat Show and there are a multitude of reasons why you should stop by to see the gorgeous display of sails in the largest, most prestigious, and only remaining in-water sailboat show in the world.  Most of those reasons are sitting in the waters of the City Dock and lined up as vendors displaying the latest in sailing accessories and boating gear, but Annapolis has the tastiest reason of them all: Crab.

Many cities have a particular food item that speaks of home and comfort.  Philadelphia has cheesesteaks, Minneapolis has the Juicy Lucy, New Orleans has Po’boys, Chicago has deep dish pizza, and Annapolis Maryland is all about crab cakes, crab soup, and just plump crabs in general.  The folks in Annapolis MD love their crab so much, they turned it into the focal point of the biggest fundraiser of the year.  The Annapolis Rotary Crab Feast held at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in August is the largest crab feast in the world, cracking almost 4 million crabs during the three hour event and benefiting local community and cultural organizations.

Marylanders take their crab very seriously, from the type of crab and seasoning to the way it is cooked and served.  For the perfect Maryland crab, opt for a male blue crab (since they tend to be the largest) and then rub the spice on the crab before steaming, not boiling them which is a preferred cooking method in many other parts of the country.  Combine this delicacy with a glass of Natural Bohemian (or Natty Boh for the locals) and dig into the best meal you could have in Annapolis Maryland.  Is your mouth watering yet?  Check out these restaurants praised for their delicious crabs.

All of these crabtastic restaurants are located near the City Dock, where Fathom It Distributing is attending the 2017 Annapolis Sailboat Show prepared with the most innovative outdoor items for the sailor and boat enthusiast in all of us.  Stop by our stand and enter for a chance to win one of our newest outdoor products, like our stainless steel silver bottle armor bottle koozies, our double wall stainless steel stemless wine tumblers, or our double wall stainless steel 20oz grip tumblers (perfect for that Natty Boh we were talking about earlier).
